I salute these Girls…

I salute these Girls…

1.Malala Yousufzai, the Pakistani school girl activist, who is known for her education and women’s rights activism in the Swat valley of Pakistan. She was shot at point range on her head by the Taliban and she had a miraculous escape from Jaws of Death as many wd know.It was indeed so nice to see her interview the otherday in the London Hospital, giving hope and encouragement to courageous grils like her not only in Swat Valley but all over the world ,where Religious fanatics are stifling the Freedom of speech and intellectual advancement.

In early 2009, at the age of 11/12, Yousafzai wrote a blog under a pseudonym for the BBC detailing her life under Taliban rule, their attempts to take control of the valley, and her views on promoting education for girls. The following summer, a New York Times documentary was filmed about her life as the Pakistani military intervened in the region, culminating in the Second Battle of Swat.Malala began to rise in prominence, giving interviews in print and on television and taking a position as chairperson of the District Child Assembly Swat.

She has since been nominated for the International Childrens’ Peace Prize by Desmund Tutu  and has won Pakistan’s first National Youth Peace Prize. A number of prominent individuals, including the Canadian Prime Minister, are supporting a petition to nominate Malala Yousafzai for the Nobel Peace Prize..

Former British Prime Minister and current U.N. Special Envoy for Global Education Gordon Brown launched a United Nations petition  in  Malala’s name, using the slogan “I am Malala” and demanding that all children worldwide be in school by the end of 2015. Brown said he would hand the petition to Pakistan’s President in November. U.N. Secretary-General has announced that 10 November will be celebrated as Malala Day!

2.Prema..the Daughter of an autorickshaw driver in Mumbai..

How proud her parents must be when she stood  First  in the recent CA examns all over India..studying from a shanty hut, this girl gives hope and encouragement to other bright youngsters who wish to achieve something, despite all odds…She is now sought after by CMs and Karunanidhis with prize money and corporates are offering a sumptuous package too!

It is good that in a land of 50% poverty and absolute corruption, that these institutions like the CA are beyond their (corrupt politicians!)reach(as such!)

3.Nirbhaya…

I can only salute you..It is a pity that such a thing must have happened to you in the Capital of a country which boasts of its 5000 yr old culture..Your name itself shows you are very courageous..The cowards will pay for their crime..But I salute you for sacrificing yourself to godown in History of India ,as one,who has brought such drastic changes that people ,henceforth atleast be afraid even to tease a woman…

Man…learn what our age old culture is all  about..It is Hightime!
