Myth : On 16th June Alakananda Power co., removed the 1200 Yrs old Idol,Dhari Devi from its original place. When there were protests from Local Tribals,Faithfuls, there was thunder and lightning&Cloudburst. All the rivers flowed with unimaginable fury swallowing all the villages all around! This  devastating, unimaginable disaster will take years to rebuild this entire Tourism Dependent state.

The more compelling legend is of Dhari Devi, guardian deity of Uttarakhand, whose idol was removed from her temple hours before the cloudburst. A manifestation of Goddess Kali, Dhari Devi is revered as the protector of the Char Dhams.

As per believers, Uttarakhand had to face the Goddess’ ire as she was shifted from her ‘mool sthan’ (original abode) to make way for a 330 MW hydel project that now lies in ruins. A similar attempt in 1882 by a local king had resulted in a landslide that had flattened Kedarnath.

However th Kedaranath temple alone was spared. This is nearly 1200 Yrs old temple, consecrated by Adi Sahankara Himself!

Moral:Does Faith have any meaning in such a Phenomena?

Faith leads someone to a place of worship.

Shear faith compelled Hindu Rishis to seek seclusion in unreachable places on the mountains, where they will seek peace&tranquilty, without human disturbance.

Shear Faith forced the Budhist monks to build Monasteries in far reaching Himalayan Heights, where normals cannot reach so easily..

This Faith by the Faithfuls, had been exploited in the recent past by the Deluxe Tourists..

The Faithfuls some 1000s of years ago used to treck all the way with hand to mouth morsels of food to Varanasi and Kedaranath.

Today’s Deluxe Tourism take them in a Helicoptor to show the Kedaranath Temple and in the evenings the Tourists ask for a Beer & a Bar?

The shear faith of the locals on Dhari Devi, when, challenged, probably wd have opened the furious eyes of the Lord ..

We don’t know.In1882 also it has happened as per History.

One shd see the beautiful Niagaa Falls and take a ride on the maid of the mist..

Maid of the Mist

Maid of the Mist

The story shown in Imax Niagara reveals clearly of a young teenaged girl, who is being compelled to marry the 60 Yr old Indian Tribal King..She refuses and they try to capture her.

She runs for her life in the thick forest and disaapears in the Niagara Falls..

They call her

 Shear Faith!

I wrote a blog on Oberramergau of Germany(see the link)and it is shear Faith of the Catholics that they were spared from the Plague of 1684,which engulfed the entire Europe!Even today in that little villag near Munich, they ar sincerely doing this Passion Play once in 10 ys..as they fear if they stop..thre will be catastrophe for them!http://wp.me/pv4Sy-jw

When Faith is being Challenged,I presume,

God’s fury can be expected..

After all God is impartial..

Continue to have Faith in Him!!
