near Aurangabad. An architectural marvel, built by Prince Azam Shah, son of Aurangazeb,in memory of his mother,Rabia-ul Durrani in 1651!
It was modelled on the Taj Mahal at Agra, the creation of Aurangazeb’s father,Shah Jahan.
However the exterior lacks in symmetry.
The structure is topped by marble dome but the walls are of Plaster!
An octagonal screen of perforated marble encloses the Tomb.
Despite several lacunas compared to the original wonder,Bibi-Ka-Maqbara has its own grace and splendour!
The highwalls with bastions run around the edifice, the minarets a bit smaller!
Khuldabad or tthe abode of eternity is a walled town, just 3 KMs from Ellora Caves, where,Aurangazeb lies buried. There is a small lake near by called Parion-Ka-Talao!
